Celes has an unmistakeable aura—etherial, sophisticated, sexy, wry. Her presence is somewhere between that of a celtic priestess, and a warhol superstar, unstuck in time. Her music follows suit, like it just fell out of her, not exactly on purpose, certainly not by accident, landing well regardless. She sent me some references, among them the words:

Clarity
Essence
Legacy
Evisceration
Sustenance

I started by forming the logo from crescent shapes, (CELES-tial) then making an incision and shifting the top across a central axis to create a bit of dissonance and complexity without interrupting the elegance of the form. 

Following the formal logic of the logo, and the cues from Celes I built out the full alphabet and numerals with relative ease (and much pleasure).
